I suggest an experiment where existing restaurants have a menu with 10 healthy meals costing each $ 5, so there is a proper financial incentive to choose healthy meals. While all others unhealthy ones are significantly more expensive, like $ 15 each. These meals should be a viable option to have every day.

Do the experiments that the government sleeps on

Firstly, to act quickly (or rather not slowly as f*), private people need to fund an experiment to bring down the prices to $ 5 in a small town. Then at some later point, the government can take over.

The bad stuff finances the good stuff

Unhealthy eating has major hidden costs. Over the long term, the government can subsidy healthy meals through a sugar tax and/or junk food tax. Over 50 countries have already done experiments on these taxes. Additionally, affordable, healthy meals may be such a core benefit of a location, that wealthy people are increasingly attracted and pay taxes there.

Unprocessed is the magic word

No, I will not add a long discussion about what are healthy meals vs. unhealthy meals 😂 I mainly mean using unprocessed food ingredients to cook a fresh meal.
